What's new
GIB-V was updated by using DDBJ release 80 on Jan 25, 2010.
In addition, host information of GIB-V is enhanced by cross reference information of UNIPROT entry. For example, if a DDBJ entry has only information of /host="gibbon" and the UNIPROT entry has hosts information of Homo sapiens and Pan troglodytes, then the GIB-V entry has three hosts of Homo sapiens, Hylobates sp. and Pan troglodytes. The common name of "gibbon" is translated to scientific name by using TxSearch.
What is GIB-V?
Genome Information Broker for Viruses (GIB-V) is a complete virus genome data repository.
We extracted 59,721 complete virus genomes or segments data comprehensively from
International Nucleotide Sequence Database Collaboration (INSDC; DDBJ, EMBL database and GenBank) and stored in this system.
keyword search or BLAST search can execute for these data and the result of query is displayed either in graphics or in a table format.
You can retrieve genome data by download and detailed analysis can be done with genome analyze program, G-InforBio.
